La Rosa Nautica (Nautic Rose) is one of the most exclusive restaurants in Lima. The restaurant is built on pilings out away from the shore and literally sits on top of the pounding waves. It is located on a pier right on the water, so you can have lunch at a terrace from where you see the surfers just 20 meters away catching waves.
La Rosa Náutica offers a public eager for new experiences the most complete selection of Peruvian and International cuisine, as well as the most sophisticated bar to be found on the Pacific shores. Rosa Nautica fulfills all senses: taste - probably one of the best restaurants in all of South America; sight - the waves break beneath your table; smell - between the aromas from the kitchen and the salt air, it’s heaven.

This a bit vintage postcard shows the panoramic view of Machu Picchu and the lamas ;). Machu Picchu is nearly invisible from below, tucked away on a small hilltop between two Andean peaks, at 7,000 feet above sea level. The fact that it lay hidden to all but a few peasants for hundreds of years adds to its mystery and intrigue. Never discovered by the Spanish or mentioned in their chronicles, Machu Picchu is the most popular, yet least well-known of the Inca monuments - the pre-Colonial cultures of Peru left no written records.
The ruins of Machu Picchu, rediscovered in 1911 by Yale archaeologist Hiram Bingham, are one of the most beautiful and enigmatic ancient sites in the world. Invisible from below and completely self-contained, surrounded by agricultural terraces sufficient to feed the population, and watered by natural springs, Machu Picchu seems to have been utilized by the Inca as a secret ceremonial city. Two thousand feet above the rumbling Urubamba river, the cloud shrouded ruins have palaces, baths, temples, storage rooms and some 150 houses, all in a remarkable state of preservation.

Lima Virreynal - Vistas variadas de la Ciudad, Lima, Peru. Lima (the capital of Peru) is a vast, polluted metropolis in the middle of Peru’s desert coastline, Lima is an economic magnet for struggling highland and Amazonian villagers. A vibrant city with friendly people, it quickly snares the curious traveler with fine museums, striking architecture and richly historical neighborhoods.
Lima runs at a slower pace than many South American metropolises; its rhythm is more traditional, and its people reflect a steadier, calmer constitution. Lima’s unusually amenable inhabitants give the metropolis the feeling, at times, of a cluster of smaller towns. Lima’s physical atmosphere is slightly dreamlike, mostly because of the garua - a mist that settles over the city between May and October.
