Locarno is the capital of the Locarno district, located on the northern tip of Lake Maggiore (Lago Maggiore) in the Swiss canton of Ticino, close to Ascona at the foot of the Alps. The official language of Locarno is Italian.
The Colosseum in 1970s
This is a vintage postcard from 1970s showing the Colosseum in Rome. The Colosseum, Coliseum, originally Flavian Amphitheatre , is a large amphitheatre in the city of Rome. The building started around 70—72 AD and was finished in 80 AD.
